The Opening Ceremony and Entrance Education Conference for the Class of 2020 International Students Held

On the afternoon of October 23, 2020, the opening ceremony and entrance education conference for 2020 international students of Wuhan Polytechnic University was held in the lecture hall of the School of Economics and Management. It is reported that a total of 29 international students are enrolled this academic year, from Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and Africa. Due to the pandemic, 4 international students are currently studying at the school, and other students are studying online. Present at the ceremony were Xiao Boming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management, Lei Yinsheng, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, He Min, Deputy Director of the International Division, Fan Qi, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics, Liao Qianlan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management, Wu Haiping, counselor for international student as well as international students enrolled this year. The ceremony was hosted by the international student counselor Wu Haiping.

Xiao Boming, the Secretary of the Party Committee delivered a welcome speech, expressing heartfelt congratulations and a warm welcome to the new international students in 2020. He pointed out that the university has actively responded to the national “One Belt and One Road” initiative, given full play to its academic and professional advantages, and the development of international education has reached a new stage. Lei Yinsheng, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, encouraged students to cherish opportunities, be diligent in learning, and actively face the challenges posed by the global pandemic. Students should think globally and think about the world, study with an open mind, hone your character, improve yourself, and deal with the difficulties on the way to school with perseverance.

He Min, Deputy Director hoped that the students could overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic, climb the peak of knowledge bravely, and make contribution to build their own motherland after they have learned something as well as a community with a shared future for mankind. He also hoped that international students could adapt to school life as soon as possible. Learn and communicate more. Be a propagandist of Chinese culture, a messenger of Sino-foreign friendship, and a contributor to the exchange and integration of multicultural world. Fan Qi Vice Dean and Teacher Wu Haiping made detailed interpretations on the opening of the school curriculum and related management regulations for international students.
