Wuhan Polytechnic University, located in Wuhan City of Hubei Province known as a “thoroughfare to 9 provinces”, was founded in 1951. WHPU operates on the principle of “Basing itself on education, taking quality as the means of development, strengthening itself with talents, and highlighting its unique features.” The disciplines concerning food science are its distinct features. Besides, Agro-product Processing and Transformation and other related disciplines have distinct characteristics. Engineering is its main body. Engineering, Management, Science, Humanities, Economics, Agriculture, Art and Law develop in coordination. Now the University has been developed into an influential multiversity.
WHPU now covers an area of over 1,000,000 square meters, with the building area of 480,000 square meters. And it has 63 undergraduate specialties and 58 disciplines authorized to grant master’s degree. Currently the number of full-time students is over 17,000.
I. Program
Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and Trade, 4 years, taught in English. The specialty trains students to be international trade talents with reasonable knowledge structure, strong practical abilities and comprehensive qualities.
Core courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Trade, International Trade Practice, Foreign Trade Correspondence, International Settlement, Accounting Principle, Econometrics, International Business and Negotiation
II. Application Requirements
The applicant must have a passport as the citizen of a foreign country, be well-behaved, healthy, willing to obey Chinese laws and the school regulations, and respect the Chinese customs and traditions.
Besides, the following requirements should be followed as well:
1. Over age 18
2. The qualified high school graduation certificate or other higher degrees
3. Excellent command of English, capable of completing studies in English

2. Application Materials
(1） Download “the Application Form for Foreign Students” from http://www.whpu.edu.cn/wsb/. Complete the form in English or Chinese and attach an electronic passport photo to it.
(2） The scanned copy of High School Graduation Certificate
(3） The scanned copy of high school transcripts
(4） The scanned copy of the Passport
(5） Letter of Financial Guarantee from the applicant’s family

IV. School Fees
1. Tuition Fee：18,000 RMB /year
2. Accommodation Fee: 3000 RMB/year/person （The expense of water, electricity, natural gas and the Internet is excluded.）The room is shared by 2 people, equipped with necessary furniture, refrigerator, air conditioner, water- heater, broadband access, bathroom, etc.
3. Insurance Fee: About 800RMB/year （Medical Insurance for College Students 200RMB/year, and Commercial Insurance 600RMB/year collected by the insurance company）
4. Textbooks Fee: It depends on the study plan each semester.
V. University Scholarship
1. 10,000 RMB/year, 4 years
2. Application Requirements
(1） You are supposed to obey and respect the university rules and laws of China;
(2） Your scores should be above 60% for all your courses every semester;
(3） You should pay tuition, accommodation and insurance fees on time.
VI. Confirmation of Enrolment
1. After passing the materials examination, the applicant will receive the pre-admission letter by email. Those who cannot be reached due to the change of contact information should be responsible on their own.
2. The student should pay the application fee (800RMB) to confirm his/her placement within 15 working days from the date when the pre-admission letter is sent out. The application fee will be counted in the total tuition fees, and would not be returned. After receiving the application fee, WHPU will mail the admission letter and the JW202 form to the address on the application form. The applicant who wants to receive the admission letter directly from the international office should indicate on the application form.
3. After receiving the Admission Letter and the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Studying in China( JW202) as well as other enrollment files, the student should go to apply for the student visa at Chinese embassies and consulates, and register on time. Delaying for 3 weeks without any reasons will be regarded as abandonment automatically, the application fee will not be returned.
