Wuhan Polytechnic University, located in Wuhan City of Hubei Province known as a “thoroughfare to 9 provinces”, was founded in 1951. WHPU is the first university to cultivate professional personnel for the grain sector in China. And, WHPU is the First-Class Initiative Discipline Construction University .Characterized by light industry and food science,with obvious advantages in the field of food nutrition and human health,WHPU has been developed into an influential multidisciplinary university, focusing on engineering, with management, science, literature, economics, agriculture, arts, law and other disciplines developed in coordination. It is one of the public universities hosted by the Chinese government.

WHPU has two campuses in Wuhan, including one in the vicinity of Jinyin Lake and the other is near the Changqing Garden, and it covers an area of nearly 1,000,000 square meters.WHPU consists of 17 academic schools, with 65 undergraduate majors,83 professional master degree.
