Foreign teachers’ obligations

1. Foreign teachers shall respect China’s religious policies, and shall not conduct any religious activities incompatible with his/her status as a foreign teacher: shall not do the missionary work during classes or hold missionary activities with students in other places like campus dormitories. Otherwise, will be deemed to breach of the contract, until the termination of the contract.

2. Foreign teachers shall participate in the teaching and research activities from the foreign language department, strictly comply with the course schedule from the academic affairs office, and fulfill the task assigned to him/her with high standards within the prescribed timeframe. Foreign teachers shall not switch/reschedule classes on their own to fit their own schedule. If rescheduling class is needed under urgent circumstances, the foreign teachers are required to fill in and submit the “application for rescheduling the class” form to the academic affairs office. The class schedule can then be rearranged after the approval from the academic affairs office. The foreign teachers shall not end the class in advance and start the exams before she/he finishes the teaching tasks assigned to them or even more seriously, appoint the students to substitute themselves to supervise the in class exams. Otherwise, will be deemed to breach of the contract.

3. Foreign teachers shall be strictly comply with the teaching time, which means shall not be late or finish the class earlier. If you ask for sick leave, you should provide written proof of doctors from designated hospitals. In urgent cases, you may firstly contact the Chinese teachers (who are appointed to be responsible for your teaching work) for a sick leave , and submit the doctor’s notes afterwards. You shall not go on leave without notice and permission, otherwise it will be regarded as absence without valid reasons.
