On the morning of September 30th, the class of 2017 international student forum was held in the conference room of the school of economics and management. The school leaders Xiao Bo, Liu Mingang, Xie Songhe attended this conference , the relevant functional departments, the responsible person of the school of economics and management and the international student participated in the meeting. The director of the International office，Zhou Peisong, held the meeting.
Professor Xiao Bo who is the secretary of the party committee in the university said,there is a traditional and profound friendship among people of Africa and China and we will have more opportunity in the process of promoting the Belt and Road .He hopes the lovely international students soon accommodate themselves to the new environment , strengthening their knowledge,experiencing Chinese culture deeply ,leading a safe and healthy life and becoming the messengers of friendship who can enhance mutual exchange and communication between Africa and China .He insisted that the related personnel need to arrange the study life well and offer a service for life for the international students with passion and a sense of responsibility and to improve the level of international works in the university.Finally,professor Xiao sang a Chinese song Friends to extend our warm welcome to the international students on behalf of our university.
The principal and professor Liu Minggang welcomed the international students on behalf of the Wuhan Polytechnic University(WHPU).He cited one sentence from “Grandfather Tutor”:He who teaches me for one day is my father for a lifetime, to teach the overseas students to learn more Chinese traditional culture. WHPU will take good care of their study and daily life as she does for her children. Liu urged the international students to observe the institution regulations, study hard and go into this WHPU big collective as soon as possible. After arriving China, the international students can enrich themselves by joining different sport games, such as basketball and china’s national sport--Pingpang. As the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival are approaching, Liu wished everyone a happy life and academic progress on behalf of the school.
In this symposium, Professor Du Weigong from the school of Economics and Management reported the teaching preparation for the international students. Zhou Peisong, the director of the International office introduced the basic information about the international students and the availability of living facility.
Every international student also received the moon cakes carefully prepared by our school as the gift on mid-autumn day. Brenda said:"Thank you all for holding a full welcome ceremony for us. Our school not only supports the superior accommodation, but also arranges a lot of good teachers. I will study hard, and try my best to win the scholarship for the next four years."Hilda expressed she would adapt to the new school environment with the help of her head teacher-teacher Wu. Postgraduate representative student Mazz said that during the teaching process，I'm trying to fit in with teacher and during the other hand, I'm keeping in touch with teacher. I believe in the following study will be more and more smooth.
Before the conversazione, the school leaders visited the international students in the dormitory, to show their care about the students' daily living and environmental adaptation.
