The 1st International Forum on Food Security and Innovation in Industrial Technology Held in WHPU

In 2020, the foundation of food security is stable, and the confidence to fulfill the goal of completing the building of a moderately prosperous society is sufficient. At the end of this year, when the “13th Five-Year Plan” is about to come to an end, the 1st International Forum on Food Security and Innovation in Industrial Technology, hosted by Wuhan Polytechnic University, the Key Laboratory of Deep Processing of Major Grain and Oil, National Food Technology Transfer Center, and Hubei Key Laboratory for Processing and Transformation of Agricultural Products, was held on Dec 5 in Wuhan. More than 300 well-known experts, scholars, technicians and managers in food industry from the United States, Australia, Singapore and other countries gathered in Wuhan, the “Heroic City”, to discuss development plans for food security and industrial technological innovation.

  

Zhu Beiwei, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered an opening speech, and she said that aiming to cope with the negative impact of the COVID-19 on grain industry, analyze and forecast the development trend of the global grain industry and cutting-edge technology, and promote the sustainable development of the grain industry in China, the timing of this forum is perfect. Zhu also said in the opening video speech, “The active participation and concerted efforts of the participating experts will facilitate more fruits sharing and cooperation expansion, provide more constructive suggestions and plans for China's food security and scientific and technological development, consolidate the foundation for the healthy development of China's food industry, and ensure national food security.”
