In order to advance the internationalization process in our school, and promote reform and innovation in teaching, after being reported and appraised by Hubei Province Foreign Experts and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs(SAFEA), the school projects training abroad in 2015----" Teachers ' training project of teaching design theory and model of reforming and innovating in the process of internationalization in colleges and universities " , with a group of 15 people, including visiting the United States at San Francisco State University in summer and carrying out a 21-day training to learn.
San Francisco State University is one of the campuses of the California State University system, built in 1899, is a well-known public University, also an oversea training cooperative institution appraised by SAFEA. In order to guarantee the teachers training project moving smoothly, the school specifically organized their College Dean, Professor etc., to give lessons for teachers training mission of our school, including: internationalization of higher education, higher education policy, the preparation and application of teaching syllabus, the concept of general education and curriculum setting, teaching trends and standards, critical teaching, discussion teaching, case teaching method, network teaching and learning, and college students’ mental health and counseling, etc.. In strict accordance with overseas training requirements of SAFEA, it was all day class during the training, and they fulfilled the relevant signature procedures after the end of each course, according to the requirements of foreign teachers, which ensured the timely completion of the training program.
The members of training mission fully seized this rare opportunity to learn, actively asked questions in class, had class discussion towards comparison of teaching methods in China and abroad with foreign teachers. Their studying attitude of actively asking questions was highly praised by those foreign professors, who pretty welcome our teachers and students to visit San Francisco State University every year for exchange of learning, meanwhile, they will also send well-known professors to give lectures in our school, to promote the communication and cooperation between each other.
The members of training mission consist of 13 institutes and representatives from relevant departments. It was agreed that, through training, they had an awareness of the development trend of higher education in foreign countries, flexibility and diversity of discussion in teaching abroad, as well as the importance of cultivating students ' creative thinking in teaching. Recently, the teachers of this training mission have done special reports in many institutions one after another, shared advanced educational concepts together with other teachers and students, and actively applied the advanced teaching methods learned from abroad into the classroom, which played a leading role in promoting the educational reform.
