On the morning of April 16th, 2023 Wuhan Marathon started at Wuhan Science and Technology Museum, 26,000 runners from 32 countries and regions took part in this marathon. Our foreign teacher Andrei Vlasov actively signed up for this activity. During the competition, together with the contestants, he started from YanJiang Road, which is near the Yangtze River, crossed the ancient buildings with the old customs of China in Hankou. After passed the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, which is called ‘the first bridge of the Great Yangtze River’, and the picturesque East Lake Greenway, they enjoyed the beautiful scenery of ‘One city, Two rivers, Three towns, Four bridges and Five lakes’.
Andre is 58 years old. In order to participate in this competition, he insists on running, swimming and playing badminton every week to adjust his body to the best condition for the challenge. Because of the hot weather, the game was a bit hard, which was a challenge for him. When running across the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, Andre was filled with emotion. He said that this bridge recorded the friendship between the Chinese and Soviet people in those years. ‘I come to China to hope that the friendship between China and Russia would last forever! I am very grateful for our student volunteers, who cheered and encouraged me all the way. With everyone's encouragement, I smoothly ran to Happy Valley, this is a very pleasant activity!’, he said.
