To further reinforce safety education for international students, the International Office (the School of International Education), together with the School of Economics, School of Management, School of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Wuhan Polytechnic University, held a meeting of summer vacation safety education for international students on June 26th. Ke Ning, Li Jingsong and Liu Xinyang, the three police officers from the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau, Wuhan Municipal Public Security Bureau, came to our school to give lectures. The meeting was presided over by Chen Desheng, vice dean of the School of International Education, and Lu Pengyu, secretary of the Patry Committee of the School of Economics, as well as persons in charge of the School of Management, School of Civil Engineering and Architecture participated in the publicity education activity.
Liu Xinyang delivered a special lecture on foreign-related laws and regulations to international students, and introduced relevant laws and regulations from the aspects of residence permit processing, prohibiting illegal employment, traffic safety, preventing telecommunication fraud, etc. Through playing the English publicity film of the anti-telecommunication fraud, the officers interacted with the students and reminded them to be on guard against the traps of fraud and to protect themselves at any time.
Chen Desheng stressed the safety precautions for international students during the summer vacation, reminded students to strictly abide by Chinese laws and regulations and school rules and disciplines during their school time, and, at the same time, asked international students to raise their safety awareness at all times and to fulfil the procedures of asking for a leave during vacation.
After the meeting, the International Office (the School of International Education) and the relevant schools, together with the international students, signed the Summer Vacation Safety Letter of Commitment for International Students, to ensure that students spend a safe, harmonious and meaningful summer vacation.
