The Lantern Festival on February 24th, was also the first day of preparation for the beginning of new semester. A frozen snowfall added beautiful snow-covered landscape to the campus, but also caused inconvenience to teachers and students in living trip.
International Office(School of International Education), School of Economics, School of Management,School of Humanities and Communication organized snow clearing activity with students abroad. Regardless of slippery snow and ice underfoot, teachers and students took shovels, brooms and other tools to remove snow. Although their hand and feet were cold,their hearts were hot with excitement, because it would soon be the beginning of the school year. Teachers and students were drenched with sweat which melt ice and snow on the ground,they work hard to carve out safe passages to welcome the new semester.
During winter vacation, 85 International students from 22 countries stayed at school, International Office(School of International Education), School of Economics organized various activities,for example, Teacher Peng Hao from School of Foreign Languages cooked many delicious foods, boiling glutinous rice balls, frying dumplings and spring rolls(a thin sheet of dough, rolled, stuffed and fried), so that International students in a foreign land could feel a strong Spring Festival atmosphere. They sent and shared pictures about beautiful snow-covered landscape and Chinese New Year in campus to their families and friends abroad.
They said that dragon symbolizes bravery, confidence and vitality in the traditional Chinese culture, so they came to China to learn the spirit of dragon. In the Year of the Dragon, they will study hard with the spirit of unremitting self-improvement, and create a peaceful and bright future for our planet with the spirit of optimism, openness and dedication!
